Hi Everyone!
The three major components for success in any business.
1. You absolutely have to be doing something you are so passionate about that it turns from a passion to a downright obsession.
2. You must have an undying thirst for knowledge in the industry that you are passionate or obsessive about.
3. You have to be defined as Unique in your marketplace!
It sounds simple doesn't it? However, the reality is in my 10 years experience I see some people who were sometimes passionate for a day, sometimes passionate for a month but it rarely exceeds three months.
From the knowledge standpoint, the most important aspect that you need to be knowledgeable about in your business is the marketing. What made Dell computers what they are today versus your local small business computer shop. Marketing, passion, obsession and a deep rooted knowledge of the industry.
For me, this is how I define an obsession. Something you just can not stop thinking about because you love it so much. Now do not get confused with something that is on your mind because of stress. These thoughts ] should be thought of with excitement and joy not of frustration. For example, I was in a retail store shopping with my wife. Now I am not a shopper. I used that time to pace up and down the aisles to think of good ideas for my business. I know how odd this sounds, in fact, it even sounds hard. But, I am doing this and thinking about business because I absolutely love it. It should not be hard
So first things first, what do you love and what are you passionate about. Second, you must do market research about your passion and your obsession.
And finally, you must be extremely knowledgeable about the marketing of your business and more importantly the angle of attack you you you will use to become successful. Your angle of attack for the best likelihood of winning in your industry should be such that it defines you as being unique in your marketplace. That way, you do not compete in your marketplace. I seen so many businesses that fail because individuals dream beating out their competition rather than not having any competition and being unique.
So how do you define yourself as being unique in your marketplace?
If right off the bat your thinking price you're doomed for failure. And I know that sounds harsh but it's true. Look at the industry I am in, primarily Web hosting. I know we are not one of the cheapest hosts but we have defined ourselves in our marketplace by being unique. Now, when you're trying to define yourself as being unique in your marketplace your theme must be simple and consistent otherwise your prospective buyer will ultimately just be confused. Let's take Dell as an example. Their unique identifier was that they provided unquestionably the best 24 7 365 support in the industry!
When you look at Kiosk.ws , our hosting company. I would hope that you see us as the only web hosting company that not only understands the Internet marketing world but provides you the necessary tools to generate an income and become profitable online . That's said, you can see that even I need to work on the one common theme of our business. When our new website comes out, our common theme is that we are not just a web host we are the "Growth Host".
One of the best ways to define yourself as unique in your marketplace is to surf the Internet and especially chat forums to see what people are complaining about relative /">propecia new york to the competitors in your industry. This is like conducting a survey without putting out a questionnaire. If you can fix, make easier, or more convenient a complaint in your marketplace relative to your industry you will define yourself as unique.
Again, as an example to Kiosk.ws the main complaint in Internet marketing world is that if you have a newsletter list and you are accused wrongfully so of a spam complaint you are guilty and your website is usually shut down until you can prove your innocence. With our company, because we understand the Internet marketing world you're innocent until proven guilty. We also understand what an affiliate website is and therefore if one of your affiliates spams we just ask that you shut them down whereas all other web hosts will shut your domain down.
This is just an example, of a very simple unique identifier that has allowed our company to continue to grow, and be around for a long time. I hope you enjoyed this little tidbit. Although it is small in size, it is truly the corner stone of what has made our business what it is today.
Have an AWESOME week!
